About / Methodology
We sell a valuation discipline tool, not "stocks that will go up."
Valoreto is an institutional-grade equity valuation engine. It models the perspective and process of a buy-side/sell-side investment committee, producing intrinsic-value and position-discipline assessments on U.S. equities in a source-bound, auditable, and reviewable way — rather than predicting short-term price moves or chasing news noise.
Our discipline (core methodology)
- Source-binding: every key figure is bound to a specific source, definition, and timestamp; vague "public data" is not accepted.
- Anti-hallucination: no fabricated prices, EPS, news, SEC/IR facts, consensus, or terminal multiples; if a figure cannot be found, it is flagged "missing" and confidence is lowered.
- Formal vs Provisional: only complete, gate-passing data qualifies as Formal; otherwise it is clearly labeled Provisional, never dressed up.
- Independent judgment: Required Return, scenario probabilities, terminal multiples, and action labels are never adjusted to suit a user’s preferences.
- Source priority: official primary sources (SEC/IR) > exchanges/professional terminals > mainstream financial media > sell-side consensus > aggregators, with weighting reduced at each successive level.
Two output tiers
- Snapshot Card (Free): understand in 30 seconds whether a stock is cheap or expensive right now — valuation state, action label, Return Spread, dynamic entry range (Forward P/E), and a one-line conclusion, all on a single page.
- Institutional Locked Card (Subscription): a complete audit trail, like an investment committee — key-debate table, sensitivity variables, the full institutional audit chain, a Locked Card draft, and a Decision Journal. Sources are traceable, assumptions are locked, and the output is refreshable and reviewable, saved as a Locked Card you own.
Two cores: the Valuation Engine + the Locked Card you own
We offer more than "one judgment." A valuation is a single moment; an investment is an entire journey — over the years between buying and selling, prices move and emotions swing, and it is precisely in this "middle ground" that most people lose money. So beyond the engine, the product's other core is the Locked Card.
Every formal valuation can be saved as a standard Locked Assumption Card, stored under your account or written to your own GitHub repository. It freezes the Required Return, terminal assumptions, and Kill conditions from the moment you made the call — so when prices swing, your calm self holds your anxious self in check (drift prevention); the built-in Decision Journal lets you review honestly later. From then on, you only need a Data Refresh (recomputing against new data without changing long-term assumptions), and only Revision (generating a new card version) when evidence truly changes. Ownership and disposition of the card remain entirely yours, building year over year into a research-card library of your own.
To understand in depth why this matters so much, see "Why You Need a Locked Card."
Why the results are trustworthy: consistent, no drift
Every valuation follows the same strict institutional discipline and never "reads the room" based on how a question is phrased, market sentiment, or your preferences. The same inputs yield conclusions on the same basis, and every conclusion is traceable to its source, model, and assumptions — so you can review and compare with confidence.
